Georgia Solkov Jack is a Californian born and raised by her parents, a public school teacher and a preschool director, in Santa Rosa, when it was a rural agrarian community. In 1982 she moved to the state of New York to attend the Rochester Institute of Technology, from which she graduated in 1985 with a bachelor’s of fine arts degree. Subsequently, she moved to New York City where she lived until 1987, prior to returning to San Francisco. Her career has been focused in communications, in both visual and written forms.

Georgia, who has a passion for social justice, started working in the non-profit community in 1990 as a development associate for the St. Vincent De Paul Society in San Francisco. Since then she has held a variety of development positions for organizations such as Planned Parenthood - Austin, Texas and the Children's Health Council in Palo Alto.  For the past ten years she has worked in the office of development at Stanford University.

Georgia, along with her husband Michael, has resided in Redwood City since 1996 along with their two children. Michael travels a great deal due to his work in the high tech sector, leaving Georgia to pursue a variety of community service projects and hobbies such as gardening, knitting, and being a general gadfly. Her children appear to be unharmed by her lack of focused parenting, as demonstrated by their own enjoyment in school and achievements in extracurricular activities.
