Those scores, however, put Central Middle School in the upper echelon of Bay Area middle schools.</p> <p>Principal Lynette Hovland says the school's mission statement is "to create an exemplary middle school in San Carlos for all students by providing a rich curriculum with well-defined standards that empower students to develop and appreciate learning and a commitment to responsible citizenship."</p> <p>For parents, an online service known as "School Loop" is provided to keep them abreast of activities and happenings. Various other parent/teacher mailing lists are also available.
