What is the graduation rate of the public charter high schools in the county? Why were Everest andRead More Summit Public Charter High schools not included in this report? I understand that their graduations rates are nearly 100%?!

Old saying "figures lie when liars figure"-- the 49th in the nation is based on perRead More student.....(you don't need twice as many administrators when you double the student population)---We are in the top five of states on total spending.....if you want to ask an interesting question--how much goes for teacher pensions vs. in class spending??? Now that is a question the Teacher's Union doesn't want you to ask......

For those of us growing up in San Carlos in the 60's, 70's and 80's we were extremely fortunate andRead More spoiled to have our introduction to music be in the hands of Rita Hagemire(sp). Rita taught at all SC schools. Her passion for music and teaching was contagious, she knew how to reach they youngest 4 years old to the oldest 14 years old to get them excited about music. Thank you Rita!

My daughter, Olivia, was so impressed with their performance. She looks forward to the day that sheRead More will be the big kid visiting Central:) What a great community service to inspire the younger kids!

Hi I'm the president of the club and I do admit that we have a large male population in the club. WeRead More currently have four girl members and two of them actually hold officer positions. And I agree there aren't many girls, however our outreach plan is to get more girls involved.

Where are the girls in this photo? I don't want to jump to conclusions that there aren't more girlsRead More this political leadership club (maybe there is one who is taking the photo), but out of these 17 students, only two are girls.

That's terrible that he doesn't have to register as a sex offender. Maybe people can pass the wordRead More and his picture around.

If you are pointing fingers, why not the administration that followed Ms. Ferguson (the principal inRead More 2001) they were there for three years. Why did they allow him to coach, why did they allow him to continue to work at Ralston. I would say tha t they enabled him! Once again, he was an employee, the district does all background checks, not principals. FACT!

I agree Belmont Historian. Belmont Patch Hack seems very angry. The first incident was differentRead More Ralston administration, different Superintendents. How do you know what information is past on. Kollmann wasn't even hired until 2009. what about Ralstons Athletic Directors, should they be held accountable. What qualification do you need to coach volleyball? There are parents, teachers and kids that coach at Ralston that don't have coaching experience......the district is responsible for doing back ground checks, not principals. You (belmontpatchhack) sound like you have a vendetta against Kollmann......get over it. Move on and let's focus on our kids today!

So just so we are clear, the teachers want 9% increase (3-4 % is standard), and the union has beenRead More without a contract. The county has money (7 Million) in reserve but will or cannot not pay it out as its earmarked for programs that the state cancelled. I love this system that constantly comes after taxpayers to vote to increase our taxes when they have money that that have tangled up in red tape, is our tax increase going this same direction. These are the people who get our tax dollars, not educators, schools or teachers, why do we give them parcel tax increases if they cannot use money to benefit those homeowners who pay into the system Who's Money is this anyway?????

The Peninsula is an affluent area. That special ed teachers should have to beg for wages this way isRead More shameful. Teaching, especially with special needs students, is not an easy way to earn a living. These people deserve a decent wage.
