Due to technical difficulties, the editor has posted the following comment on behalf of blog author…Read More Joe Brennan:
From Joe Brennan: "Thank you, Alicia. These hesitation markers can serve a useful function for the speaker, but if they are so excessive (interjected at every pause of the speaker), they can distract the listener and interrupt his or her attention to the speaker's words. So, it seems that like so many things, there is a gray area where there are no clear answers. You make your choice and take your chances, but some semblance of balance seems necessary to convey the effective exchange of information."

It seems so unfair how unelected bureaucrats are padding their pensions at the expense of San…Read More Carlos. I read that the SamTrans CEO makes $400,000 each and every year, which is 59% higher than the median salary for CEO's of the states other 23 largest transit operators. This is the same guy who dreamt up this fiasco, which will in time become a canker sore on the City.

It's time for the city to start thinking about the citizens that already live and vote in San Carlos…Read More before worrying about housing for those not here yet. To approve a project that will hurt current residents property values is disturbing. We don't need any more 1001 ElCamino type buildings in our community.

RM: Very well put. It's pretty amazing, actually. We have been fighting this development for many…Read More years but there is a huge push to dump all future housing in San Carlos in our neighborhood. The deal is so raw for us that we haven't been promised anything in exchange for the massive impacts. No additional park land. No guarantees that they won't try to rezone our houses with apartments down the road. No acknowledgment of the values of our views of the Pulgas Ridge or the noise that this project will create (I am not kidding, the City of San Carlos rigged the EIR to say that this project would have no significant adverse impacts when it's 55-foot buildings across from 12 foot homes). It is a total scam and we'll do everything in our power to improve this deal, but the die is cast that they are trying very hard to put all of the future impact of this City on a tiny 65-year old neighborhood with beautiful homes on 5,000 square foot lots.

Don't let it happen. I highly doubt the normal recourse will be effective. Be creative.
