Super Bowl XLVII Apps Bring 49ers, Ravens and New Orleans to You

Live Super Bowl streaming, team stats, and NFL history can be at your fingertips with these apps.

The Big Game pits the San Francisco 49ers against the Baltimore Ravens this Sunday in New Orleans.

Most of us can't be there, but a few awesome, free apps and a healthy knowledge of how to follow the game on social media will bring Super Bowl XLVII literally to the palm of your hand—via your smart phone.

Here are six great free apps that will help football fans stay connected and entertained during the Super Bowl:

  1. ESPN ScoreCenter (Android, iOS, Windows Phone)
Once you download ScoreCenter, you'll want to follow all of your favorite professional and college teams. But on Sunday, just set alerts for the 49ers or Ravens and enjoy the live stats feed.
  2. SB XLVII Guide (Android, iOS)
This is the NFL's official Super Bowl app. 'Nuff said.
  3. 49ers Gameday Live (Android, iOS, BlackBerry)
  4. Baltimore Ravens Mobile (Android, iOS, BlackBerry)
  5. Madden NFL 13 Social
If things aren't going well for your team, play a virtual game instead.
  6. Super Bowl Quiz
This app can get the party started but with just 15 questions, you won't miss many commercials.

Want to track the big game via social media? CBS News compiled this list of Super Bowl-relevant Twitter feeds and hashtags to follow.

For the TV-less or those on the go this Sunday, here's how to live stream the Super Bowl.

Thanks for sharing Jennifer! I think its great there are so many apps involving the Super Bowl! I’ll have to check them all out to see how I like all of them. My favorite app isn’t actually NFL related, but it will help me watch the Ravens win while I’m stuck working at DISH tomorrow. The app is called DISH Remote Access and it lets me watch all of my shows from home, live or from off my DVR, anywhere I am in the world. Like I said I’ll be stuck at work during the game, so luckily I will be able to use that app to watch the whole thing live, on my phone, right at my desk! I can’t wait until tomorrow! :)
