The Sequoia boys' tennis team defeated Half Moon Bay 6-1 in Peninsula Athletic League-Ocean Division play Thursday at home.

The Cherokees improve to 7-0 in league and 7-1 overall.

Sequoia's Jon Saltzman dropped a 7-5, 7-6 (6-3) decision to Half Moon Bay's Nick Lasher at No. 1 singles.

Sequoia's David Burtt defeated Tanner Smith 6-0, 6-0 at No. 2 singles, and Cherokees captain Daniel Jude defeated Steve Jacobson in a super-tiebreaker 6-1, 4-6 (10-4) at No. 3.

Sequoia senior Alex Schreiber wrapped up the singles with a 6-2, 6-2 win over Ryan Segerval at No. 4.

In doubles, Santi Ortega and Zach Sahn teamed for a 6-4, 6-1 victory over the Cougars' Harry Zaidain and Max Pallidino at No. 1.
