Redwood Shores Man Scores With Willie Mays Bat

"Best 20 bucks I ever spent!"

Redwood Shores resident Rick Einsiedl went home from the San Mateo Historical Association History Makers Dinner Thursday night with more than a few good stories about the evening's honoree, the "Say Hey" Kid---he left with a piece of baseball history, a Louisville Slugger signed by the kid himself, Willie Mays.

"Best 20 bucks I ever spent!" proclaimed Einsiedl who bought the raffle ticket earlier in the evening. The annual History Makers recognizes an individual or family that has made a significant historical impact on San Mateo County.

Thursday's event, held at the Hotel Sofitel, honored baseball legend and long-time San Mateo County resident Willie Mays.
