Interest Spikes in Girls Volleyball With 'Battle of Belmont'

The Notre Dame Tigers will take on the Carlmont Scots in a hometown volleyball challenge Oct. 1.

Sports fans don't need to look beyond local high school gyms for some top notch athletics.

This week, catch the Notre Dame Belmont Tigers volleyball team as they take on Archbishop Mitty (Wed.,frosh 4pm; JV 5pm; varsity  6:30pm) and Saratoga (Thurs., frosh 5pm; varsity 6:30pm).

Thursday is middle schoolers day; any middle school student wearing their team's jersey, t-shirt or sweatshirt will receive free admission. Parents of middle schoolers will pay student price.

Then, on Mon., Oct. 1, the Notre Dame Tigers and the Carlmont High School Scots will face off in the "Battle of Belmont," JV at 5pm; varsity at 6:30pm.

Which school will bring the most fans? The Scots or the Tigers?

General admission is $5; students with ASB cards $3; seniors and children under 12 are free. 

All games will be played in the Notre Dame High School gym, 1540 Ralston Ave. in Belmont.
