[Editor's Note: The following is a posting from Notre Dame de Namur's Faceook page.]

Notre Dame de Namur University From the Center for Spirituality: We would like to acknowledge the occurrence of events that happened in Connecticut this past Friday and invite your prayerful response to this very tragic situation.

We invite you to stop into the Chapel sometime this week to take a few moments of silence/offer prayer for the victims of the shootings and their families.

A memorial candle will be lit in the Chapel for the victims throughout this week; prayers and the names of all those who were killed will be available in the back of the Chapel. The 5:30 Wednesday night Mass on campus will be offered for the people of Newtown, Connecticut.

The chapel is located on the campus of NDNU, 1500 Ralston Avenue in Belmont. For more information, go to www.ndnu.edu.

That is very generous, and thoughtful of NDNU to offer this mass. I think an interfaith service at Carlmont High School for all Belmont and San Carlos residents in their new auditorium would be a good idea as well...
