Take Flight for Kids: Helicopter Aviator

If you're a kid who fantasized about sprouting wings and taking flight then don't miss out on the Hiller Aviation Museum's Take Flight for Kids programs. Take Flight programs are half-day adventures into the world of aviation for elementary-aged students in Grades 1-5. Sessions are scheduled on select weekend and holiday dates throughout the year and include the following: Hands-on construction of flying model aircraft; Exclusive behind-the-scenes cockpit explorations in Museum aircraft; And a special flight simulation experience in the Flight Sim Zone.

At the Helicopter Aviator course kids will discover the science of whirlybirds by building and flying several small models. They will also get to try out the controls of several real helicopters in the Museum's Gallery and settle into the flight simulators to fly an exciting helicopter mission.
