San Mateo County Fair Free Literary Events

 

For the first time ever we are offering a CD featuring the San Mateo County Fair Literary Works for $5.  The CD includes short stories, essays, poems and work submitted to sponsored contests.  Many writers showcased on the CD are published, award wining authors.  Don’t miss this experience!  All proceeds will go to the San Mateo County Fair’s Youth Fund.  Please note that some of the Fair’s submittals were not included as per the author’s request.

Kathy Garver – Audio-Book Workshop Thursday, June 16 5:00–6:00 pm and Author Book Day Saturday June 18 2:00-4:00 pm

 

Actress, Kathy Garver, best known for her starring role as “Cissy” in the television series “Family Affair”, will join us for Author Book Day, Saturday June 18 from 2:00-4:00pm to autograph her new book, The Family Affair Cookbook.  Kathy, together with Geoffrey Mark, recently completed the best selling, The Family Affair Cookbook.  There are tons of recipes, anecdotes and pure fun to be had for the whole family.  

 

She will also be teaching an Audio-Book Workshop on Thursday June 16 from 5:00-6:00 pm at the San Mateo County Fair Literary Arts Stage.  Please join us!                       

 

 

Join us Friday, June 17 for an evening of exciting events at the San Mateo County Fair Literary Arts Stage.

 

4:00-6:00 pm 

First up is Mary Knippel’s Coaxing Creativity Workshop at 4:00-6:00 pm.  Learn how to unleash your creative side.  Discover the secret of journal writing along with experiencing the magic that happens when bits of paper are infused with imagination.

6:30-8:00 pm

Next up will be readings from the Fault Zone, Words from the Edge.  Come and meet some of the local writers featured in this wonderful Anthology filled with great stories and poems.

8:00-9:00 pm

Then join us for a Fiction/Nonfiction Workshop given by Teresa LeYung Ryan and learn how to build a writer’s platform and fanbase to promote your own literary achievements.
