Modern Seafloor Mapping at the USGS

A free public lecture by geologist David Finlayson of the USGS Pacific Coastal & Marine Science Center in Santa Cruz.

State-of-the-art sonar systems are being used by U.S. Geological Survey scientists to explore such fascinating underwater features as the San Andreas Fault, giant sand dunes beneath the Golden Gate Bridge, and tsunami-generated landslide debris.

David's lecture will also be webstreamed live. Go to http://online.wr.usgs.gov/calendar/ for details.
