Underlying each of these headlines is a social problem that needs a serious discussion and concerted action--way beyond money. The headlines demonstrate a societal paradigm that is blocking common sense. We have social problems that are caused by over valuing money, and then we try to solve the problems by using money. This is a classic example of paradigm paralysis. The ego--especially when it is a collective ego--blocks the consciousness needed to solve life’s ills. That’s why the problems of school violence, drug abuse, racism, gangs, greed et al have been here for decades and are getting worse. By focusing on the illusion of money, our attention is off target and the common humanity underlying each of these ills can no longer be seen.
