Who Will Become Mayor of San Carlos?
A city council will determine who should become mayor and vice-mayor of San Carlos tonight at 7 p.m.
The governmental structure of San Carlos will change tonight as the city council will vote on who to appoint the new Mayor and Vice-Mayor of the city.
The once logical choice to fill Mayor Omar Ahmad's position, Vice-Mayor Andy Klein, became uncertain when Klein was arrested on suspicion of driving under the influence. Whether the arrest will prevent him from being appointed Mayor remains to be seen.
Klein said in an email before his arrest that either former mayors Randy Royce or Matt Grocott are eligible to become Vice-Mayor.

The city will also decide tonight whether to hold a special election to fill the vacancy left by Mayor Omar Ahmad. The city could continue on as a four person council, or elect a fifth councilmen, and will decide tonight on how to proceed.
