The Interviews: Linda da Silva

The city council interviewed Linda da Silva for the position of interim city council person.

Linda da Silva: I've lived here for 8 years, been in California my whole life. I work at the San Mateo County Communications District. I’m interested in giving back. Have some more time in my schedule than I’ve had in the last few years.

 Matt Grocott: You said you have some extra time. Do you have an imagination of the time commitment as to what is required for this position?

 Linda: I think it’s meeting several times a month. I think there’s a lot of community work and homework. But I have a lot of energy.

 Matt Grocott: Do you have a gameplan or stategy? One of the things they’re talking about is – it’s only six months and it takes about that long to figure out how this works?

 Linda: I don’t have a gameplan. I think it’s just a lot of research to get up to speed.

 Randy Royce: How do we preserve the preciousness of our downtown are while developing it?

 Linda: It’d be about thinking outside the box and doing things that haven’t been done before.

 Andy Klein: If you could change one thing - if you could be Queen for a Day - what would that be? What would you bring to San Carlos or change?

 Linda: I think I would focus on school kids and college kids and I’d give them the day off and have them volunteer to give them a broader perspective to see how they could help their community.

 Bob Grassilli: Assuming you were appointed to this, and you liked it, would you consider running in November?

 Linda: Yes, if I liked it .If I loved it, sure.
