San Carlos Seeks Applicants for Advisory Commission

The Economic Development Advisory Commission (EDAC) now has one (1) vacant seat due to the expired term of one commissioner.

If you are a business owner in San Carlos and/or a resident of the City of San Carlos and you are interested in serving on this committee, applications are being accepted at this time.

The Economic Development Advisory Commission (EDAC) is a nine-member advisory commission appointed by the City Council. Commission members include representatives of the business community in San Carlos and provide the City Council advice and recommendations on the City's economic development programs, goals and objectives.

The Commission's goals include maintaining a successful business climate, ensuring a diverse job base, and providing an adequate range of housing for residents and employees of San Carlos businesses.

In 2012-13, EDAC will focus on the Economic Development Plan, Business Retention, Expansion & Recruitment Efforts, the City's Marketing and Branding Program, the Fiscal and Economic Impacts of a Potential Hotel/Office Project, Identifying and Pursuing Alternative Funding and Resources and the Fiscal Analysis of Land Use and Sites in San Carlos.

The deadline for the receipt of applications in the City Clerk's Office is Tuesday, July 3rd at 4:00 P.M.  Interviews have tentatively been scheduled with the City Council on the evening of Monday, July 9, 2012.
