San Carlos Getting its Green On

San Carlos, in its recent Green Annual Report, highlights some of the work in these programs as well as how they benefit residents, businesses and the San Carlos community.

The City of San Carlos released its annual report on green programs and climate protection.

The city has been producing these reports since 2007, when the city council voted to expand its green programs top include climate protection.

Some of the bigger projects included 'CartSmart,' which produced the 'Rethink Waste' campaign; and Energy Upgrade, a partnership in which San Carlos residents can achieve grants up to $4,000 to perform energy audits and have local contracters do the work.

Another program was added this year to shred documents at no cost. Recology, Goodwill and eShred are sponsoring the event to be held on the vacant land neart the corner of Holly Street and El Camino Real. No date or time were specified.

The same event will also include the ability to donate used electronical equipment to Goodwill.
