Robert Weil Resigns As Public Works Director
Weil's resignation was made public last night after the city released a statement.
Public Works Director Robert Weil announced his resignation Thursday night, according to a statement released by city officials.
"I have decided to pursue other interests and opportunities at this time," Weil said. His resignation is the latest in a series of governmental changes after the retirement of fire chief Doug Fry and the death of Mayor Omar Ahmad.
Weil oversaw many large projects for the city, the installation of synthetic turf for Highland Park among the largest of them. His final day will be June 1.
