Question of the Week: How Do You Feel About Uncontested Elections?

The city treasurer is up for re-election...but will we have any competition?

Late Tuesday night, the Mercury News published a story about city treasurer Michael Galvin running for a seventh term this November. The terms for treasurer are four-years a piece.

Galvin - a long-time San Carlan - has never had any competition for his position. He was first elected nearly 24 years ago in 1987.

A graduate of Golden Gate University, Galvin has worked for the San Carlos Post Office, accounting firms and has served in the military. He is a Certified Public Accountant and a Certified California Municipal Treasurer.
