Obama Returns to Bay Area, Again

In his third trip in three months, the president continues to court the fundraising dollars in Silicon Valley.

If you missed President Barack Obama's visit through , cross your fingers, he may land at the local airfield on his next visit.

KCBS reports that Obama might return to the Bay Area for another fundraising trip on July 23rd. During his last trip on June 6th -- he arrived and departed from SFO -- the president raised $2 million; later that week media outlets reported that Republican presidential candiate Mitt Romney out-fundraised Obama $76 million to $60 million in the month of May.

According to the Federal Election Commission, as of July 4, San Carlos residents have donated $95,482 to the Obama campaign in 2011 and 2012. This compares to $20,275 to Romney, though another combined $22,500 was donated to the Republican National Committee, San Mateo County Republican Party and the Defeat Obama Campaign.
