Governor Endorses Jerry Hill for Senate

Hill is seeking a seat in the newly created California State Senate District 13.

 
Assemblymember announced Wednesday that he has received the endorsement of Governor Jerry Brown in his race for the State Senate. The endorsement comes less than 32 days before ballots are mailed to absentee voters.

The 13th State Senate district seat Hill is seeking includes the San Carlos and Belmont, and other Peninsula cities from Brisbane to Sunnyvale and Pacifica to Pescadero.  

"I look forward to continuing to work with Governor Brown to create local jobs, improve public education, and fight for environmentalprotection," Hill said.

Also endorsing Hill are Congresswoman Anna Eshoo, Lieutenant Governor Gavin Newsom, nine out of ten San Mateo and Santa Clara County Supervisors and 20 out of 23 mayors of cities in the 13th Senate district. 

Hill has served as mayor of San Mateo, San Mateo County Supervisor and has served in the Assembly since 2008.

The general election will take place on November 6, 2012 where Hill will face-off against former Assemblymember Sally Lieber.
