First To Report: Mark Olbert Plans To Run For City Council

Olbert pulls papers as he plans to run for the council in November.

San Carlos Elementary School Board Member Mark Olbert has pulled papers to file for the City Council election in November, assistant city manager Brian Moura told San Carlos Patch.

If he obtains the signatures and files, Moura said, he would be the third candidate on the ballot. 

Ron Collins and current council member Randy Royce are both official candidates for November 8 election.

Olbert has been a financial manager and former chief financial officer with more than 20 years of experience. He has served as the chairman of Aundel Elementary school governance council.

He earned a bachelor's degree in cellular and molecular biology from SUNY and an MBA from Dartmouth.
