Mark Olbert, Ron Collins Elected To City Council

The latest election results for the city council race from San Carlos Patch.

Mark Olbert and Ron Collins were elected to the San Carlos City Council Tuesday night with both taking just more than 34 percent of the vote. The election results are a major change for the city's political structure as incumbent and former mayor Randy Royce fell short of reclaiming his spot on the dais. Royce has been on the council since 2007.

The city council has seen a number of shake-ups throughout the last year after the passing of Mayor Omar Ahmad saw Brad Lewis step in and take an interim position on the council.

Lewis and Royce will both be stepping down from the city council in mid-December when Olbert and Collins take over. Olbert stepped down from the San Carlos School Board to run for this position. Collins was a member of the San Carlos Chamber of Commerce.
