City Services and Activities Unavailable Between Christmas and New Year's Day

In an effort to be fiscally conservative, City of San Carlos facilities will be closed over the holidays.

As a cost saving measure, City of San Carlos facilities, including City Hall, the Adult Community Center, Youth Center, Laureola Park Community Center, and park bathrooms will be closed from Dec. 26 through Jan. 2, 2012.

Most city services and activities will be suspended.

Emergency services will continue such as Police, Fire, Storm, Sewer & Road Repair during this period.

"These days are a furlough week, but it doesn't mean that all employees are taking unpaid status," said Captain of the Sheriff's office Greg Rothaus. "City employees have the option to take vacation time, take comp time, or for those who don’t have enough time accrued in the bank, they can take unpaid leave."

The City of San Carlos apologizes for any inconvenience this may cause and encourages residents to make appointments, where applicable, for service prior to their closing.

Doors will re-open at 8 a.m. on Tuesday, Jan. 3, 2012.
