Next week, the will reconvene, holding their first meeting since July 11.
In early June, the council voted to have a summer recess period, canceling the July 25 and August 8 council meetings.
The will be looking toward the fall months with a full schedule. And with elections looming November 8, only seven meetings remain for the current council before the political landscape is altered once again.
The seat of the late Omar Ahmad - currently and temporarily occupied by Brad Lewis - and the seat of Randy Royce will be in contention. Only Ron Collins and Mark Olbert have chosen to run against Royce for the two seats.
The council will resume August 22 with many significant issues to discuss. Among them will the beginning of a contract with Redwood City and the dissolution of the fire JPA with Belmont, cell phone towers, , and continued talks regarding the city's budget.
