City Council Meets For First Time Since Andy Klein's Resignation

How will Klein's absence affect the council?

The San Carlos City Council will reconvene Monday night for the first time without Andy Klein at the helm. The former Mayor resigned from his position last week, leaving Matt Grocott to assume duties as an interim-Mayor while the city decides how to fill the fifth slot.

The city went through a similar process last year after the untimely passing of then-Mayor Omar Ahmad. The council held interviews to fill the fifth position, which eventually went to Brad Lewis.

With this shake-up, the council moves forward. According to the city’s website, the agenda for Monday’s meeting will include:

  • PTAF - Adopt Third Addendum to Agreement with County on Property Tax Admin Fee (PTAF) Tolling Agreement - Extension to July 1, 2013 Oversight Board Activities (# 5c)
  • Oversight Board - Approve Agreement with Gary Baum Esq. for Legal Counsel Services to Oversight Board (# 5d)
  • Study Session - 2012-13 Fiscal Year City Budget (# 7a)
  • ROPS - Approve the Recognized Obligation Payment Schedule (ROPS) of the Oversight Board to Successor Agency (# 8a)
