City Pushes Family and Business-Friendly Ideas Forward
The city sets its sights on economic enhancement and environmental sustainability
Two new goals have been added to the city’s strategic plan: the enhancement of economic development and the promotion of environmental sustainability.
On Feb. 29, the City Council met with City Manager Jeff Maltbie and department heads to establish new goals and objectives. The city and staff have been meeting in a similar capacity every six months since 2006.
During that meeting, the city determined its "vision statement" was its desire to become a “vibrant family and business friendly community” by 2017.

- Provide effective and sustainable public safety
- Maintain and enhance facilities and infrastructure
- Enhance economic development
- Plan for and implement long-term financial sustainability
- Promote and achieve environmental sustainability
