Update: Sobriety Checkpoint to be Set Up in the Area

The Redwood City Area Office of the California Highway Patrol (CHP) will conduct a sobriety checkpoint on Saturday.

The Redwood City Area Office of the California Highway Patrol (CHP) will conduct a sobriety checkpoint on Saturday, July 14, 2012 to aggressively seek those who choose to drive drunk.

It will be conducted on state route 92, Westbound west of I-280 (by the Crystal Springs Reservoir).

Every year, members of our community are injured or killed on local roadways by impaired drivers.  It is the Department’s goal to use this enforcement tool to assist with the reduction of injury and fatal collisions that are caused by drunk drivers.

We are asking the public to designate a driver if they happen to allow alcohol to be part of their evening.

The checkpoint will be operated from approximately 8 p.m. to midnight.
