Sheriff's Office Investigating San Carlos Car Burglaries

In each case, car windows were smashed, and interior items stolen.

San Mateo County sheriff's deputies are investigating a handful of car burglaries that occurred in San Carlos on Monday evening.

Deputies responded to five reports of auto burglaries in the downtown area and elsewhere between 6 p.m. and 7:30 p.m., sheriff's officials said.

In each incident, the victim's car window was smashed and items were stolen from inside the vehicle, according to the sheriff's office.

The incidents occurred in the 600 and 900 blocks of Laurel Street; the 600 block of El Camino Real; the 1200 block of Cherry Street; and the 500 block of Skyway Road, sheriff's officials said.

The burglaries remain under investigation.
