San Carlos Woman Attempts To Slay Dragon

Woman arrested twice in three days, once after she attacked her boyfriend and stabbed a pet lizard.

A San Carlos woman attempted to slay a dragon this past Saturday, an act that led to the first of her two arrests within a week.

On Saturday, Aug. 13, Shawna Kim Apour was arrested after a domestic dispute with her boyfriend in the 1000 block of Crestview.

Apour allegedly rampaged through the area, vandalized several cars in the vicinity, and ended inside her boyfriend's home, where she attacked her mate and stabbed his 14-year-old lizard with a knife.

Deputies arrived at the scene to find Apour wielding a knife. When she refused to disarm, deputies used a stun gun on her, leaving her debilitated. She was arrested and booked at the San Mateo County jail on charges of domestic violence, cruelty to animals, vandalism, and weapon possession, said Lt. Ray Lunny.

And that was just the beginning.

Apour was released from custody on Aug. 16, but her freedom was short-lived. She was arrested again, the second time in three days, when police found her walking on active railroad tracks. Deputy Bridget Hensley confronted Apour and was met with aggressive behavior, police said. Apour allegedly attempted to remove Hensley's gun and Taser.

Apour was arrested, her second time in a week, for attempting to disarm a deputy, trespassing, resisting arrest and committing a felony while on bail.
