Buckle up for safety!
The San Carlos bureau of the San Mateo County Sheriff's Office will be a part of the 2012 National Click It or Ticket campaign, a public safety inititaive cracking down on those driving without a seatbelt, or those driving with children not safely secured inside their carseats.
The campaign lasts through June 3.
All patrol units working in the unincorporated areas of San Mateo County, and those in contract cities, San Carlos among them, will devote additional attention and resources to enforcing seat belt and car seat violations by the motoring public.
The Sheriff's Office says the goal in the initiative is to save lives and promote safety.
"Since research shows that seatbelts and car seats save lives, the intent of the Sheriff's Office is to protect people in our communities by encouraging compliance with occupant restraint laws," the Sheriff's Office said.
Do you buckle up when you're driving?!? Let us know in the comments!
