San Carlos Massage Parlor Closed Down

Complaints have been lodged for years against Oriental Massage.

The San Jose Mercury News web site reported that police shut down a San Carlos massage business where three separate arrests for prostitution were made in the last two years and detained a female employee, according to the San Mateo County Sheriff's Office.

The San Carlos Police Bureau has received complaints for years against Oriental Massage at 1600 El Camino Real the Mercury-News quoted Capt. Greg Rothaus, as saying.

An undercover operation Wednesday reportedly netted Shu Yan Zhang, 49, who was arrested on alleged suspicion of solicitation for prostitution, according to a sheriff's office news release.

Revisions to the city's massage business ordinance that went into effect in July helped the city close the operation, Rothaus said.
