San Carlos and Redwood City Begin Firefighter Recruitment

The city announced today its plans for recruitment and the beginning of its application process.

San Carlos and Redwood City will begin their joint recruitment of firefighters and paramedics this Friday, June 10. Applications will be accepted beginning June 13.

A separate application and recruitment process will be held for the position of fire captain. The dates for recruitment and application acceptance for fire captain will be the same dates for firefighters and paramedics.

"Both of these recruitments are being held for the purpose of developing an eligibility list from which San Carlos could draw in filling out its new fire department," the city's statement said. "There are no special terms and conditions directed at current employees of the BSCFD JPA.  San Carlos is likely to conduct a separate recruitment process relative to existing employees."
