Mountain Lion Spotted in Woodside

The animal sighting was reported Monday night.

A mountain lion was seen walking in Woodside on Monday night, county emergency officials said.

The carnivorous cat was spotted walking along the roadway in the vicinity of the 400 block of Old LaHonda Road at about 9:15 p.m.

Residents are advised to not approach mountain lions, and instead try to appear as large and noisy as possible.

The California Department of Fish and Game also warns to avoid jogging at dawn, dusk or at night when mountain lions are most active.
