Mountain Lion Spotted In Portola Valley

The latest mountain lion spotting reported.

A mountain lion sighting was reported on Friday night in Portola Valley, according to San Mateo County emergency officials.

The creature was spotted at about 7:50 p.m. in the area of the 400 block of Old Spanish Trail, emergency officials said.

Residents are advised to not approach mountain lions, and instead try to appear as large and noisy as possible. The California Department of Fish and Game also warns to avoid jogging at dawn, dusk or at night when mountain lions are most active.
