Man, Youth Arrested in San Carlos

A routine traffic stop leads the arrest of a suspected burglar.

A suspected burglar and his companion were taken into custody Tuesday morning near downtown San Carlos.

During a routine enforcement stop on a vehicle with an inoperable brake light, deputies from the Sheriff's Office San Carlos Police Bureau found burglary tools and several items that were stolen in automobile burglaries from the cities of Fremont and Belmont.

Marcos Patino, of Fremont, was driving with a suspended driver's license, which led to further investigation and the discovery of the stolen items.

Patino was arrested and booked into the Maguire Correctional Facility for driving with a suspended license, conspiracy, burglary, possessing burglary tools and for possession of stolen property.

His passenger, a 16-year-old male juvenile also from Fremont, was also arrested and booked into the Youth Services Center for conspiracy, burglary, and possessing stolen property.
