Man Robbed in San Carlos for $6 and iPod

The two suspects were arrested. Their trial is set for Halloween.

A 20-year-old male was robbed at gun point for $6 and an iPod along El camino Real in San Carlos, according to the District Attorney.

The suspects - identified only as Hubbs and Layton - approached the victim in a gray Buick and asked him if he wanted to smoke marijuana with them. The victim agreed and got into the car. After they smoked, one of the suspects pulled a gun out. The men scoured the victim's backpack, at which point the victim told the suspects he had an ounce of marijuana ot his home.

The suspects then told the victim they were undercover police officers and demanded he take them to his house so they could steal his marijuana.

When they arrived at his home, the victim saw two city workers nearby and ran out of the car and into his house.

The suspects were later arrested. Hubbs is out of custody on $50,000 bail, while Layton remains in jail on $250,000 bail. Their jury rial has been set for October 31.
