Lucky Supermarkets Experience Fraud Scare

The chain saw its ATM and credit card readers compromised, resulting in possible fraud, police said.

The ATM and credit card readers at self-checkout lanes throughout the Bay Area, including the chain’s San Carlos location on 1133 Old County Road, were compromised, according to a statement released by police.

The report said customers may have been at risk for fraudulent activity.

“Immediate action was taken by Lucky management and the security threat has been resolved,” the report said.

The report did not detail how the lanes had been compromised, and did not say who may have been responsible.
