Is San Carlos Prepared For a Major Emergency?

A community workshop on Aug. 22 will introduce residents and business owners to the city's Emergency Operations Plan.

As the City of San Carlos prepares to update its Emergency Operations Plan, members of the community are invited to attend a Community Workshop on Aug. 22 to learn more about the plan and to gather information on how to plan for an emergency.

The city's new Emergency Operations Plan will include lessons learned from previous local disasters, incorporate the use of new technologies, and to adopt the latest best practices in emergency management.

Led by Aanko Technologies, Inc., the city's consultant team, the workshop will
promote dialog between emergency planners and the community; offer positive examples of collaboration in disaster response/recovery; present facilitated discussion of emergency scenario and planning guides plus handouts and resource links; and motivate the community to begin planning and to volunteer for emergency training.

Planning guides and other emergency preparedness information will be available at the workshop.

Organizers also hope to motivate the community to begin planning and to volunteer for emergency training.
