Fire Department Puts Kabosh on Kaboom

A reminder from San Carlos fire officials that fireworks of any kinds are prohibited.

The San Carlos Fire Department reminds everyone that the sale, possession, and use of all fireworks are banned within the City of San Carlos. This ban includes the "safe and sane" variety of fireworks that are legal in some other cities in the area.

Please be extremely careful during the Fourth of July holiday season and throughout the summer months with all outdoor activities. The abundance of dry grass and brush in the area has created an extremely dangerous fire condition.

The City of San Carlos has banned all fireworks including the "Safe and Sane," type of fireworks. The decision to ban fireworks was a result of the community becoming increasingly concerned with the numerous fires that were directly caused by fireworks when they were still allowed in the City.

The implementation of the fireworks ordinance caused an immediate 97% reduction in all fireworks related fires and injuries.
