Dine and Dash Suspect Pleads Not Guilty
San Carlos resident Patrick James Higgins allegedly ran out on a $70 food tab at Sneakers Restaurant last week.
The parolee who police say ran out the rear alley door of a San Carlos restaurant without paying his tab, pleaded not guilty in felony court Monday.
Deputies from the San Mateo County Sheriff's Office--San Carlos Division charged 43-year-old Patrick James Higgins with a felony and a misdemeanor last Friday after he ordered and consumed $70 worth of food at Sneakers Restaurant on San Carlos Avenue, then ran out of the restaurant.
Higgins, who is on parole for a 2010 felony conviction, was appointed a public defender in San Mateo County Superior Court on Monday and the case was set for a preliminary hearing on March 1 at 1:30 p.m.. Bail was set at $10,000; Higgins remains in custody.
