Daylight Robbery Near Burgess Park
Young man loses bike in cowardly strong-armed theft.
A boy was beat up and his BMX-style bicycle taken from him by two male suspects at a Menlo Park skate park Monday morning, a Menlo Park police sergeant said.
The juvenile victim was at the Burgess Skate Park in the 600 block of Alma Street when, around 10:50 a.m., two suspects approached him and started punching him several times, Menlo Park police Sgt. Matthew Ortega said.

While he was being hit, one of the assailants stole his bicycle, and then the pair rode off on the bike, Ortega said.
The boy didn't suffer serious injury during the robbery, Ortega said.

The age of the suspects are unknown, but one of the suspects was described as a male standing 5 feet 7 inches tall and weighing 135 pounds. He was Caucasian with blonde hair.
The second suspect was a black male with black hair standing about 6 feet tall and weighing about 180 pounds, Ortega said. Both were able to evade police.
The DK brand bicycle was silver with black grips and valued at $400, the sergeant said.
