City Could Spend $40K on Radar Kits, Updates

The city council will discuss spending $42,000 on four radar kits and an update of the city's Emergency Operations Center.

City staff is proposing spending $42,000 to support front-line law enforcement services, according to city records.

The money will come from the city’s Supplemental Law Enforcement Special Funds which must be used “for front line municipal police services and must supplement, not supplant, existing funding.”

The current funds balance is $182,228.

If approved by the city council, the city will spend $17,000 on four radar recorder kits, used to collect traffic speed data, and $25,000 to update the city’s Emergency Operations Center.
