What a Week for My First Blog!

Does Andy Klein really believe he'll ever be Mayor of San Carlos?  We now know he has a "reckless driving" conviction from Montana.  Was that a DUI pled down to reckless driving?  I wish someone whould find out.  The more he fights this, the more likely it is that someone will dig deeper into these questions and the less likely it will be that he ever sits in that center seat.

After all his talk from the dais about his frequenting of local bars, how can anyone be surprised that they finally got him?  We were out of town, but when I opened that PATCH breaking news alert, I let out a WOO HOO!  I knew they'd get him eventually, but it was all the sweeter that it happened when he was all puffed up about becoming Mayor.  He didn't even know the council would have to vote him in; or maybe he was so arrogant that he just assumed they would.  The fact that he brought up his bar habits time and again is enough to demonstrate his immaturity and poor judgement.  Never mind his tantrums and incredible arrogance.  He walked into that seat unopposed and acted like he had an overwhelming mandate.  His following seems a little slim in the PATCH comments, and from very predictable sources.  I've held off a little to see what others would say, and people I don't know seem to be analyzing the situation quite well without my "inciting" them.  Thanks to all for your input; it's nice to have others chime in.

I've only seen one person suggest a recall, but if he doesn't have sense enough to step down, that's a possibility.  As I recall, it's pretty simple to do.  Once it's on the ballot, I think it's just a yes/no vote on the question of his being recalled.  He can't run against the recall.  It's been awhile since I looked at all this, but it didn't sound too daunting.  With Omar's seat open and Randy having to run if he chooses to, the whole direction of the council, and therefore the city, could change.

We only have Andy's word that his breathalizer reading was .08.  When are we going to see some information from the authorities?  And has anyone ever heard a drunk driver say he was impaired?  They all say they were fine.
