We're committed to bringing you the best in hyperlocal news - so what would you like to see more of in 2013?

Welcome, 2013!

Patch feels very honored and lucky to have you all as readers - and we're committed to bringing you the best in hyperlocal community-minded content.

So, we want to know - what would you like to see more of in 2013?

Is it more...

  • Local government and politics, such as coverage of the City Council, Planning Commission, and the like?
  • Business content, such as new businesses coming to town, why certain businesses are closing, and what it all means for the local economy and real estate?
  • Schools news?
  • Local arts and entertainment, such as the best local events going on around town?
  • More crime coverage, such as local crime trends, police blotters and the like?
  • Sports high school, club sports, youth sports leagues, local colleges
  • Or, more coverage of a particular issue in town, such as downtown development, traffic/congestion, or another?

And of course, Patch would like to have more local voices on the site, so we hope you'll consider blogging in 2013---the topic and frequency are up to you! Click on the blog link below for Belmont or San Carlos to learn how to get started.

Hi Ken, Call the San Carlos City Clerk -- they have their hand on the pulse of everything. The City Clerk can provide you with all that info, and the best way to access it. Best.. Judi

I would like to see only local news and NO state, national, international, or general interest stories that will show up in general news sources. Please send out Patch at most once per day unless there's a sizable emergency situation such as a major traffic jam somewhere nearby.

Patch is only one of many sources of news, so, its not the news per se where Patch shines, but people's opiniions about the subjects is where Patch shines. Having said that, I hope the eds keep comments in line by deleting useless back and forth that has already been said a thousand times. I hope that all really nasty attacks are immediately deleted. Some comedy is always nice. I love nostalgia, and I would like to see BLOG reserved for remember when....The way we were type of thing. Thank you for asking.

Thanks for your feedback Robert---you make some great suggestions. As editors, we do our best to try to moderate the comments, however, like you said, they do take on a life of their own at times, and we are working on ways to help keep commenters on topic. As far as a nostalgia blog--that's a great idea! Have you ever considered blogging? It's really easy and we can walk you through it---if you're interested, send me an email to joan.dentler@patch.com.
