Bicycle Lanes - More Bad than Good?
Unpatrolled bike lanes promote non-bicycle traffic. Bicycles are not observing the lanes nor the rules of traffic. In locations without bike lanes, bike riders behave the same as when there are bike lanes. Bike lanes give riders a false sense of security, creating higher risk of accidents. So why have bike lanes?
