San Carlos to Highlight Social Media Day With Treasure Hunt

The purpose of the hunt, which begins at Thursday's Hot Harvest Nights' Farmers' Market, is to educate business owners and the community and to promote the use of social media.

@San Carlos will celebrate World Wide Social Media Day with a week long treasure hunt that involves most of the downtown area.

The hunt begins Thursday @ the Social Media Day 2012 booth during Hot Harvest Nights Farmers' Market from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m.

Contestants throughout the peninsula will be asked to solve clues found on the San Carlos Chamber of Commerce Twitter profile and post their results to Instagram.

The event's grand finale is a drawing for prizes at the farmers' market on Thursday, June 28, at 7:15 p.m.

Contestants can gain access to navigation tools @ the booth in the 700 block of Laurel Street, in front of the downtown Laurel Street Park.

Clues will be posted throughout the week on Twitter @SanCarlosBiz. Participants use the clues to identify local businesses to visit in order to find a treasure to photograph and share on Instagram.

Those who solve five or more clues by 7 p.m. on June 28 must check in @ the farmers' market Social Media Day 2012 booth to be eligible for a drawing.

In addition, entrants who solve all 10 clues receive an entry into the Grand Prize Drawing for a diamond pendant valued at $1,000.
