Looking Ahead: What To Expect The First Week of 2012

San Carlos Patch looks ahead to the upcoming week at all the events, volunteer acts, and programs available to San Carlans.

The first week of 2012 is upon us, and San Carlos Patch wants to look ahead at the coming week. Here’s what you can expect this week.

 

Tuesday, Jan. 3: The City Re-Opens

The city of San Carlos City Hall, adult community center, youth center and Chamber of Commerce will re-op its doors Tuesday morning.

Wednesday, Jan. 4:  San Carless Day

Arundel Elementary is hosting “San Carless Day” to promote fitness and green living. All San Carlans are encouraged to walk, bike or carpool to school on the first Wednesday of every month.

Thursday, Jan. 5: Take Flight!

The Hiller Aviation Museum is offering a “Parachute Planes” program for children and adults to observe parachute-inspired ultraight aircraft and launch a flight simulation. Advanced registration is required. $40 per session/$35 for members.

Friday, Jan. 6: Rotary Club Meeting

The San Carlos Rotary Club will host its weekly meeting with President Bob Gutgsell. The club is renowned for its ability to raise money and awareness regarding important issues facing the city.

Saturday, Jan. 7: Cornell Cares Sort Food at Second Harvest

On Saturday morning, Cornell students will help sort food to be used by the Second Harvest Food Bank in San Carlos. The event will take place from 8:45 a.m. until noon.
