Flowers, Tamales, and Peaches

Deliciousness returns at Hot Harvest Nights!

It is May and once again, time for Hot Harvest Nights in San Carlos. I always love the beginning of farmer's market season in San Carlos. It brings with it much more than fresh, local fruits and veggies. After a busy week at work, I look forward to a stroll down Laurel Street on Thursday evening. Saying hello to friends, sampling some of the goodies being offered, and picking up some of my favorites along the way is a great way to end the week and welcome in the coming weekend.

A few of the must haves for the Robinson family are the tamales (get there early, they sell out), the peaches (when they are available) and the flowers. Well, ok, the flowers are mostly just for me. We also look forward to the gigantic cookies offered by one of the vendors and the Greenlee's cinnamon bread. To justify all of this, we try to pick up some fresh fixin's for a salad and some veggies to cook over the weekend, but let's be real, the other food at the market is amazing!

Hot Harvest Nights runs every Thursday from 4-8pm beginning this week, May 5h and goes until September 15th. It is one of my favorite San Carlos "happenings" and I hope to see you there!
