Lung cancer survivor has become the voice for the other 1.5 million people affected by the number one cancer killer. In 2006 she founded the Bonnie J. Addario Lung Cancer Foundation (BJALCF) to help other patients and their families.
According to its website, BJALCF, which is based in San Carlos, has grown into the first international collaborative entity of its kind, raising over $9 million for lung cancer research. The ultimate goal of BJALCF is to become the largest source of non-profit funding dedicated to turning lung cancer into a manageable chronic disease.
This Sunday, BJALCF will host its fourth annual fundraising event:

- Registration: 2:00 p.m., Shotgun start: 4:00 p.m.
- Registration: $25
- Student/Youth/Senior: $15
